Gačnk v Logu is near Cerkno, in the green hills just south of the Julian Alps. The owner rides and there is a garage for bikes, so the machine stays dry and out of sight overnight. From Cerkno the Idrijca valley leads down to Most na Soči and the Soča valley, with Tolmin and Kobarid beyond and the Vršič pass a longer day out. Local roads are narrow and twisting, with tight bends between villages. Allow extra time for every journey, and check fuel before heading into the hills.
