What this site is
motorbikefriendly.com is a directory of biker-friendly accommodation. We list places we've found and link out to Booking.com for availability. We also publish route guides and accept property submissions from owners.
What we collect
- Newsletter email. If you sign up to the newsletter, we store your email address and the source page (e.g. footer or homepage) so we can send infrequent updates about new biker-friendly places. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
- Property submissions. If you submit a property via /submit, we store the property details you provide, your contact email, and any notes you include. We use this only to verify and publish the listing — we don't share or sell it.
- Saved places. The "save" feature on property pages stores your saved property IDs in your browser (localStorage). It never leaves your device and we never see it server-side.
- Anonymous click tracking. When you click a "Check availability on Booking.com" button, we record the property ID and a timestamp so we can measure which listings get attention. We do not record anything that identifies you.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and basic engagement metrics in aggregate. GA4 may set cookies. We do not run any other tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting tools.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your email address with anyone.
- We don't run third-party advertising, retargeting, or behavioural ad networks.
- We don't send marketing emails outside of the newsletter you signed up to.
- We don't profile you across sites.
Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you're in the UK or the EU you can ask us to: confirm what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send you a copy. Email [email protected] and we'll handle it within 30 days. We're a small operation — there's no form to fill in, just send us a message.
Cookies
On your first visit you’ll see a small banner asking whether you’re happy for us to use Google Analytics 4. We don’t set any analytics cookies until you choose “Accept”. If you choose “Decline”, no GA4 cookies are set and the site works exactly the same.
Your choice is stored in your browser (a small flag in localStorage calledmbf_consent) so we don’t ask again. To change your mind, clear this site’s storage in your browser settings and we’ll show the banner again on your next visit.

Where the data sits
Newsletter and property-submission data is stored in Supabase (EU region). Click tracking is stored in the same database. The site is hosted on Vercel. Google Analytics data is held by Google in line with their privacy policy.
Affiliate links
We use affiliate links. When you click through, the partner site may set tracking cookies on its own domain to attribute the booking. We don't set our own affiliate cookies on motorbikefriendly.com. Full detail on affiliate disclosure.
Changes to this page
If anything material changes (new tools, new data, different processors), we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Big changes will be flagged in the newsletter.
