Methodology

How a place gets onto motorbikefriendly.com.

Where listings come from

Every property in the directory traces back to one of three places: an established biker-accommodation source (e.g. motor-hotels.eu, motorradhotels.de, motorcyclewebsite.com, thebikerguide.co.uk), a route-specific recommendation we have cross-checked, or an owner submission via /submit. Listings imported from source directories are filtered against the criteria below before they go live.

What biker-friendly means here

A property has to satisfy at least three of the following:

  • Secure overnight parking (lockup garage, floodlit forecourt, covered area, or fenced courtyard)
  • A space to dry kit (boot room, drying cabinet, or warm laundry room)
  • A space to wash bikes or hose down chains
  • Hosts who actively welcome riders rather than tolerate them
  • Proximity to a riding region people actually go to

“Hotel that allows bikes” on its own doesn't qualify.
