Berggasthof Pension Hinhart
Berggasthof Pension Hinhart is a mountain inn near Regen, in the middle of the Bavarian Forest. The B85 and B11 meet at Regen, and the Großer Arber is about 15 km away in a straight line. The owner rides a motorcycle and offers guided rides and route descriptions, and bikes go in a garage. That is a full riding set-up: safe parking, local knowledge and company on the road if you want it. The Czech border at Bayerisch Eisenstein is a short ride away. Ask about guided rides when you book.
Breitenberger Hof
Breitenberger Hof is in Breitenberg, in the southern Bavarian Forest, close to the Dreisessel and the point where Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic meet. Bikes have a garage and covered parking, and there are tools for small repairs, somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. From here you can ride loops into Upper Austria and over the border into the Šumava, or north into the National Park. Passau is about 28 km away in a straight line.
Ferien- & Wellness-Hotel Brunnenhof
Ferien- und Wellness-Hotel Brunnenhof is in Bayerisch Eisenstein, on the Czech border at the foot of the Großer Arber. The kit list is long: a garage and covered parking, a place to wash the bike, tools for small repairs, somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and guided rides. The border crossing to Železná Ruda is in the village, so loops into the Šumava start from the door. Ask about the guided ride dates when you book.
Hotel "Ferien vom Ich"
Hotel Ferien vom Ich is in Neukirchen, in the front ranges of the Bavarian Forest above the Danube near Straubing. Bikes have covered parking, and there are tools for small repairs, somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. From here the small roads climb north towards Kollnburg, Viechtach and the Arber, and Deggendorf is about 24 km away in a straight line. A good base if you are coming in via the A3 and want the hills to start straight away.

Bikes have covered parking, and there is somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. Hotel Sattelbogener Hof
Hotel Sattelbogener Hof is in Sattelbogen near Traitsching, in the Bavarian Forest south of Cham. Bikes have covered parking, and the hotel offers guided rides, route tips, somewhere to dry wet gear and wifi. Landgasthof Postwirt
Landgasthof Postwirt is a village inn at Lam, in the Lamer Winkel on the northern side of the Großer Arber. Bikes have covered parking, and the inn offers somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. The Arber is about 12 km away in a straight line, and the border crossing at Bayerisch Eisenstein is a short ride away. Lam is a quiet valley village, so evenings are calm. Ask whether you are booking a room or a holiday flat.
Landhaus Köck
Landhaus Köck is in Lohberg, in the Lamer Winkel at the foot of the Großer Arber, about 7 km away in a straight line. There is a garage for bikes, and the house has route descriptions for the area. The roads round the Arber and the border crossing at Bayerisch Eisenstein are within a short ride, so loops into the Czech Šumava are easy to plan. Lohberg is small, so check where you will eat in the evening before you arrive.
Pension Bayerwald
Pension Bayerwald is a guesthouse in Bodenmais, at the foot of the Großer Arber, about 6 km away in a straight line. Bikes have covered parking, and there is somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. Wellnesshotel Bayerwald-Residenz
Wellnesshotel Bayerwald-Residenz is in Neukirchen, in the front ranges of the Bavarian Forest above the Danube near Straubing. Bikes have covered parking, and the hotel offers route tips and wifi. As the name says, the focus is on wellness, which suits riders who want to unwind after a long day. Drying space for wet gear is not listed, so ask when you book. The roads north towards Kollnburg and the Arber start close by, and Deggendorf is about 22 km away in a straight line.
