Alpen Hotel Seimler
Alpen Hotel Seimler is in Berchtesgaden, at the eastern end of the German Alpine Road in the far south-east corner of Bavaria. The Roßfeld panorama road, a toll road that climbs high above the town towards the Austrian border, is a few kilometres away, and Salzburg is close. The hotel has covered parking for bikes, somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. Berchtesgaden is a busy town in summer, so book ahead and set out early for the Königssee road before the coaches arrive.
Alpenhotel Bergzauber
Alpenhotel Bergzauber is in Oberau, on the slopes above Berchtesgaden, close to the Roßfeld panorama road and the Austrian border. Bikes have a garage as well as covered parking, there is somewhere to dry wet gear, and the hotel offers route tips and wifi. Ask for the garage when you book if you want the bike locked away.
Alpenhotel Sonneck
Alpenhotel Sonneck is in Bad Hindelang in the Allgäu Alps, at the foot of the Oberjoch road (B308), which climbs in a stack of hairpins towards the Tannheim valley in Austria. The Riedberg Pass, the highest pass road in Germany, is a short ride to the west. Bikes have covered parking, and there is a corner with tools for small repairs, somewhere to dry wet gear, route tips and wifi. A good base for loops between the Allgäu and Tyrol.
Edelweiss
Edelweiss is in Bad Wiessee, on the western shore of the Tegernsee in Upper Bavaria. From here the B307 runs south over the Achen Pass to the Achensee in Tyrol, and the Sudelfeld road from Bayrischzell is within reach to the east. Route descriptions are available. Garage or covered parking is not listed, so ask about it when you book. The lake towns get busy on sunny weekends, so ride the lakeshore early and head for the higher roads before midday.

Kurhotel Rupertus
Kurhotel Rupertus is in Bayrisch Gmain, next to Bad Reichenhall in the Berchtesgadener Land, right on the Austrian border. The Alpine Road runs south-west from here towards Ramsau and Berchtesgaden, and Salzburg is about 14 km away in a straight line.
